The vision
robuster.ai's first job is correctness.
Reasoning
Symbolic reasoning is the original AI. It works across a readable knowledge base and provides rigorous explanations for its conclusions.
Proves what must follow from the facts and rules. This is the core of every answer robuster.ai gives.
Proposes the best explanation for what was observed, and says how well each candidate fits.
Finds the patterns in accumulating knowledge and turns them into new inferences that can be tested.
Carries a solution from one domain to another when their structure matches.
Finds the paths to a goal state while respecting constraints and requirements.
Knows when things happened, in what order, and what was true at each moment.
Learning
Symbolic systems used to stall on the cost of crafting knowledge bases by hand. robuster.ai learns from four directions at once.
Experts state facts and rules in plain English. robuster.ai checks each one against what it already knows.
Language models read at scale and restate what they read in simple sentences. robuster.ai keeps only what fits.
Contracts, policies, records, and stories become facts, rules, and timelines.
Statistical induction over what it holds proposes new rules. Facts and rules are added, tested, and pruned at scale.
Knowledge base
Everything robuster.ai knows lives in a knowledge graph that any person can read and amend.
Kinds, parts, and properties: what things are and how they relate to one another.
What follows from what, written as plain if-then statements.
Sequences of events with their times, so robuster.ai can answer what happened and what was true when.
Private knowledge bases for your contracts, patients, and policies. An open knowledge base for the world everyone shares.
Conversation
robuster.ai converses in plain English with people and in structured protocols with other AI agents. In a network of agents, it is the one that speaks only when it knows.
What it all means — an analogy
Five thousand years ago, the most important technology on Earth came from adding a small amount of a rare metal to a common one.
People worked copper for thousands of years. It was plentiful, but its tools bent and dulled. Tin was very rare, also soft, and had to be traded across vast distances.17 But a little tin added to copper made something entirely new—bronze. Bronze was hard and could hold an edge. Bronze worked where copper and tin failed. It sparked a technological revolution and named an age that lasted for 2,000 years.18
Language models are today's copper.
robuster.ai's symbolic reasoning is the tin.
robuster.ai doesn't replace your language model. It hardens it.
